We provide you with the Merzouga Sahara Desert, Marrakech, Casablanca, Tangier, Fes, and many more places to travel.
Fes City!
In the eighth and ninth century CE, under Idrisid control, Fez was established. It originally consisted of two independent, rival communities. Early in the ninth century, successive waves of mostly Arab immigration from Ifriqiya (Tunisia) and al-Andalus (Spain and Portugal) gave the emerging metropolis its Arab identity.
Ziz Valley!
The massive Ziz Valley, or Ziz Gorges, which begin about south of Rich in the Middle Atlas and about 30 kilometers north of Errachidia, offer a rocky route south through the Tunnel du Zaabel, which the French constructed in 1928.
Erfoud City!
Erfoud is built atop fossils from a desert that was underwater hundreds of millions of years ago. Its fossils and fossil-based marble support a significant industry. Jews have lived in the Erfoud region for millennia, supporting skilled rabbis in up to seven synagogues. There was no mellah in Erfoud.
Merzouga Desert!
According to legend, Merzouga was once a tropical jungle until God converted it into a desert environment by punishing people who refused to make contributions to a poor woman and burying them in Erg Chebbi’s sand dunes. Merzouga was once deserted, but it eventually became a transit place for merchants traveling to Timbuktu.
Rissani City!
The past of Rissani is legendary. Sijilmassa, the renowned capital of the desert, was located in Rissani between the 14th and the 18th centuries. It was the location of lucrative slave and gold trades. For producing leather of the highest caliber, Rissani is renowned.
Todra Gorge!
Wind and river erosion formed the limestone and clay desert environment over time. The Todgha River has enlarged these rock layers, creating gorges that are 300 meters high but just 10 meters broad in some places.
Ouarzazate City!
During the period of French colonial rule, Ouarzazate experienced significant growth, developing into a major garrison town, an administrative hub, as well as a customs and commercial post. The cinema industry seized over in the 1950s after the French protectorate left and hasn’t looked back since.
Ait Ben-Haddou!
It is reported that, up until the 1940s, the palace was home to over 98 families. Today, only five families call Ksar home, which is unlikely. One of the families converted the home into a coffee shop, where they welcomed visitors and provided them with an overview of the way of life of the original occupants.
