4 Days Tour from Fes Itinerary
Day 1: Fes, Ifrane, Azrou, Midelt Errachidia, Ziz Valley, Erfoud, and Merzouga (460 km)
At 8:00 am, your driver will pick you up from your Fes riad or hotel and take you to Merzouga, where the Erg Chebbi sand dunes reside. Tafilalet, the largest oasis in southern Morocco, is reached after a 7-hour trek across the Atlas Mountains. Tafilalet is made up of numerous villages, palm groves, and the two main Saharan towns of Erfoud and Rissani.
We will stop frequently along the way in the mountain village of Ifrane, the Azrou cedar forest, where monkeys live, Midelt for lunch, and Ziz Valley for its breathtaking views of the palm trees and for its lush valley in the middle of the Sahara. The Erg Chebbi sand dunes will then be our destination. We travel further into the desert until the dunes suddenly appear in the middle of nowhere. We spent the night in a Berber tent camp.
Day 2: Desert Excursin in Erg Chebbi Merzouga (40 km)
The second day of the 4-day tour from Fes in the desert will begin with a drive to Khamlia village, where black-skinned Berbers perform amazing music and dances, followed by a visit to a nomadic family to learn about their way of life and enjoy a cup of tea, before continuing to a one-hour-and-a-half stop for lunch Berber pizza.
Afternoon, we’ll return to the hotel for a cup of minty tea and to relax, including a spectacular sunset as well as sandboarding overnight in the hotel.
Day 3: Merzouga, Erfoud, Todra Gorge, Dades Gorges, Dades Valley, Valley Roses, and Ouarzazate (350 km)
Wake up early to see the spectacle of the sunrise, when the color of the dunes and the play of shadows are an awesome sight after having breakfast and a shower. Continuing to Ouarzazate via Rissani, we will stop in Erfoud, famous for its fossilized marbles, where you will visit the workshop for the production of marble fossils.
We continue our 4-day tour from Fes, leaving Merzouga to Todra Gorges, which is an ideal place for walking and exploring on your own. Have lunch, then drive through Dades Valley and the town of Roses, Kelaa Mgouna.
